"As I’m sure most of you will know, the target species here at Boddington is carp. There are other species like roach and skimmers present, but to win matches here, or to frame, you need to catch carp. I’ve drawn peg 75 today, which is down the right hand bank as you look at the lake from the dam wall, and it’s the second peg in the match… so close to an end peg! I’d rather have been in the 80s because they tend to produce more fish under match conditions, but one of the great things about Boddington is you just never really know what areas will produce.
The approach for carp here for me is to fish long and then keep following the fish by unclipping and taking off a couple of metres of line after every cast without a fish. And we’re talking long waits here, 20 to 30 minutes is the average time to wait before reeling in and having another chuck. We’re fishing for a bite here at Boddington during the winter so fully expect the fishing to be hard! But there's still a match to be won so join me and see how I get on."
